How to use the scale finder

The scale finder maps every note in a selected scale on a fretboard or keyboard, with the root clearly distinguished.

Three basic steps

  1. Choose an instrument and root.
  2. Choose major, minor, pentatonic, or another scale.
  3. Practice the highlighted notes upward and downward.

A beginner-friendly setting

Start with C major or A minor pentatonic and play slowly in both directions.

If something is not working

Swipe horizontally if a fretboard is wider than the screen. On piano, use the highlighted white and black keys.
